Crop Report: Harvest slow and steady in the northeast

Late seeding has put the northeast region behind the rest of the province for harvest progress.

According to this week's Crop Report, two per cent of the 2015 crop is in the bin and an additional 12 per cent is swathed or ready to straight cut in the northeast region.

Summer is just winding down but harvest is already underway.

Around Prince Albert and in the northeast region, two per cent of crops are already combined, according to this week’s Saskatchewan Agriculture Report.

Crops are ripening quickly in the Prince Albert, Shellbrook and Melfort areas, according to Saskatchewan Agriculture's weekly crop report.

Cropland topsoil moisture conditions for the Prince Albert area are rated as 13 per cent surplus, 85 per cent adequate and two per cent short.
