Provinces makes hopper car fleet available to shortline industry

Saskatchewan shortline railways are being given first dibs on provincial hopper cars.

At the SARM convention in Saskatoon, the provincial government announced it’s giving the railways leasing priorities over CN and CP railways.

More European trade barriers

The Europeans are certainly skilled at inventing new trade barriers. Mandatory eco-labeling legislation has been passed in France.

By July of next year, environmental information will need to be made available at point of sale for all high volume consumer goods including food products.

Harvest comes to an end

Farmers are parking their harvesting equipment for the season now that almost the entire crop is in the bin.
Ninety-nine per cent of the 2010 crop has been harvested, which represents no change over the previous week.
