Highway 2 remains flooded, but this time its north of Prince Albert.

Highway Hotline announced Highway 2 about 11 km north of the city closed at around 4 p.m. on Monday afternoon due to a large accumulation of water over the road. However, that announcement was reversed soon after and the road remains open.

Joel Cherry, a spokesperson with Highways and Infrastructure said that it is believed residents trenching water from their property has caused some flooding on the road.

“We believe some trenching in the area could be a factor, people trying to keep water off of their property, and there was rain over the weekend as well,” said Cherry.
