STARS ambulance tight-lipped about their work
The STARS rescue air ambulance service has always be willing to talk about the work they are doing and the type of incidents they are responding to, but in Saskatchewan they have been asked to err on the side of caution when it comes to patient privacy.
In Alberta STARS will in some cases reveal the age and gender of the patient but Doug Line, Saskatchewan Health, said here only certain information will be revealed.
“What type of incident they were responding to, what time they were called out and arrived on scene, where the landing took place and the kind of conditions they had, in which they were working.”
Cam Heke, spokesperson for STARS, said they will follow current practice, and err on the side of caution.
