Heavy rains early in the week have brought crops much needed moisture.

Rainfall ranged from small amounts to over four inches in some areas, according to Saskatchewan Agriculture’s weekly Crop Report. In the province, 62 per cent of cropland topsoil has adequate moisture while over 30 per cent of crops are still short of moisture.

When it comes to hay land top soil moisture, 50 per cent has been rated as having adequate moisture while over 40 per cent is short of moisture.

Crops are ripening quickly, according to Sask. Agriculture, with the majority in poor-to-good condition.
