Jumps at the pumps hit residents in the pocket book

You may want to hold off filling-up your gas tank, as gas in the city jumped almost to a dollar a litre overnight.

Most stations in Prince Albert are selling regular gas for 97.9 cents per litre today, Dec. 13. Oil analyst Roger McKnight said gas wasn’t selling at a profit, hence the large spike.

“The normal margin is about 7.5 cents a litre and at 87.9 they were basically buying it at that price and selling it at that price,” McKnight said.

“So someone said enough is enough and decided to get back into the business of selling gasoline as a profit…or at least to cover their costs,” he added.
