Plows to hit residential streets for first time this season

The city is urging its residents to be aware of street signs if they plan on parking on the street this week, or face a possible fine.

Tomorrow will be the first time this season snow plows hit the residential streets of North Battleford.

Robert Oberlander, communications coordinator with the city, is asking everyone to check signs on their streets, which informs them when they can’t park on the road.

“They [snow plows] will be out early in the morning in accordance with the street signs,” Overlander said. “If a sign says no parking between certain hours, that’s when you can expect the plow to be there.”

The initial fine for parking on the street during restricted times is a $20 ticket. A second offense is $30 and the third will cost $70.

According to Oberlander, the plows will be working through this week and into next week, but couldn’t promise all residential streets will be reached in that time frame.

“Please keep in mind the plows will be try to get to everybody,” Oberlander said. “They are doing the best they can to service as many people as possible.”
