Roughriders bring in quarterback Kevin Glenn for the 3rd time

Third time’s a charm?

The Saskatchewan Roughriders must be hoping so, as they have officially signed CFL veteran Kevin Glenn to a contract.

Details on the length of the contract were not released and clubs do not disclose to the financial details of deals.

Glenn’s CFL origins began with the green and white in 2001. He spent three seasons with the Riders before being traded to the Toronto Argonauts.

The 37-year-old was last with the Roughriders in 2015, playing behind Darian Durant. Glenn stepped in when Durant ruptured his Achilles tendon, but was injured himself later on in the season.

In his most reason season, Glenn started nine of ten regular season games for the Montreal Alouettes and completed 222 of 314 pass attempts for 2,547 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Glenn was then traded to Winnipeg to play behind their starter Matt Nichols. The Bombers released Glenn earlier this month.

The veteran fills a glaring hole in the Roughriders lineup following Darian Durant’s trade to the Montreal Alouettes two weeks ago. Durant signed a three-year deal with Montreal on Friday.

Glenn will join Riders general manager and head coach Chris Jones to speak with reporters Tuesday afternoon.
