Meadow Lake’s most talented residents took to the stage Friday and Saturday night at the Catholic Church Hall for a variety night, hosted by the Meadow Lake Community Theatre.

Attendees were treated to musical performances, short plays, poetry, and monologues from local talent of all ages, including Payton Getz, who celebrated her birthday on Saturday by captivating the crowd with a selection of songs by John Lennon, Elvis Presley and Grace Vanderwaal.

Both evenings saw a packed hall, with attendance reaching past 100 each night, a figure that Meadow Lake Community Theatre President David Martodam attributes to the calibre of talent throughout the group, with many performing more than once during the show.

Along with Musical performances from Getz, Linda Nadon, Rocky Lakner, and Tyler Johnston, both evenings saw their share of dramatic performances, from Monologues by Nadon, David Martodam, Bailey Edelman and Aimee Alger, original works from noted local poets Nadon, Edelman and Gordon Gibson, to a show-opening short play performed by students of Carpenter High School.
