Chad Owens among Riders free agent signings

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have reached a deal with international receiver Chad Owens.

Owens spent six seasons in Toronto before playing last year with Hamilton.

He was the CFL’s most outstanding player in 2012.

The green and white also announced Wednesday they have signed national Safety Marc-Olivier Brouillette.

Brouillette was a seven-year veteran of the Montreal Alouettes and was taken in the 2010 draft. He started all 18 games for Montreal last season. He was also named an eastern all-star.

The signing comes after the Riders got off to a strong start in free agency Tuesday signing the 2016 Offensive Lineman of the Year, Derek Dennis and then adding Canadian running back Kienan LaFrance later in the day.

According to Justin Dunk of 3 Down Nation, the Riders also now have deals with Canadian fullback Aaron Milton.

In addition, TSN’s Joey Alfieri said the Roughriders are finalizing a two-year deal Canadian offensive lineman Ryan White.

None of the reports have been confirmed by the Riders.

Milton spent the last three seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos, meaning the Roughriders head coach and general manager Chris Jones would have plenty of familiarity with the 24-year-old. Milton provides Canadian depth at running back behind LaFrance, and Greg Morris, who was signed by the team last year.

White is a Canadian offensive lineman who also comes from the Alouettes. White has been injury prone in his career thus far, but would add Canadian depth to the Roughriders offensive line that has been plagued with injuries to Canadian guards Chris Best and Brendon LaBatte.
