Family Fun Day aimed at connecting community

Family fun is on the cards for Battlefords residents this weekend as a free event is being held with something for kids of all ages. 

Family Fun Day is scheduled for Sunday, June 11 at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Those attending can expect to see a variety of activities for the whole family including a rock climbing wall, a bouncy castle and carnival games. Additionally, snow cones and popcorn will be provided free of charge.

According to Pastor James Kwon of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, the church has hosted this event in the first weekend of June for at least the past five years.

Kwon says the event is mostly geared toward families with children from ages 3-12, however there will be activities available for teenagers as well.

One of the goals of this event is to produce community engagement with the church.

“Church is about connecting people; not just for religious reasons, but to… let the community know that we’re there to support anyone’s needs,” Kwon said. “[Family Fun Day] is just a day of having fun with family… family is important, so this is one of the events that we host to support our families to come out and enjoy it.”

Family Fun Day is free to attend, and will run from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
