Sisters exploring options after Rivier closure

The Sisters of the Presentation of Mary are exploring their options, after Blessed Marie Rivier School shut its doors just weeks ago.

While the building at 1405 Bishop Pascal Place will continue to be the Sisters’ home for now, they have spoken with interested parties and the city about potential uses for the former school.

Previous Rivier students in Grades 9 to 12 will transition to programming at St. Mary High School. Grade 7 and 8 students already enrolled for next year will be moved to a classroom inside St. Mary and operate as Blessed Marie Rivier within the school. This system will be evaluated by the end of the 2017-18 school year.

The Sisters of the Presentation of Mary have been a presence in Saskatchewan since 1903 and in Prince Albert since 1925. They have provided catholic education ever since.
