M.L. Library staff prepares for August programs
As a hub of the community, the staff at the Meadow Lake Library is busy preparing its diverse and inclusive summer programming schedule.
Tawn Marshall, the programming clerk at the library, said events at the library are always planned with families in mind. Some of the events include the Lakeland Summer Players on August 10, which is a performance troupe which travels around the library region doing puppet shows and games, and the ever-popular ‘Rambling Reptile Roadshow’ on August 17. Some other events also include a paleontology day to teach kids about dinosaurs.
“We’ve got a pretty good creative staff,” Marshall said. “We also share ideas with librarians across the province. We just try to get a good variety of what we can and have different activities for different age groups. [We] have a lot of fun with it.”
She said the reptile roadshow is always a hit, and the theatre performance, while tailored for children aged four to nine years old, is open to everyone.
