Pedestrian dies after collision on Big River First Nation

One person is dead following an incident on the Big River First Nation early Friday morning.

RCMP say at approximately 2:30 a.m., they responded to a call of a collision between a vehicle and 24-year-old male from Big River First Nation.

The pedestrian was transported to the Shellbrook hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver, who was not injured, remained on scene until emergency services arrived.

RCMP say the family has been notified and they will not be releasing the name of the deceased. No charges have been laid against the driver.
