Police nab suspect after foot pursuit

Police in Meadow Lake have kept busy over the last week with 157 files.

Officers investigated a suspicious person after receiving a complaint from a local business owner on Centre Street on July 26 after 4 p.m.

According to a media release, police located the man and detained him for questioning before he took off on foot. With help from a police service dog, Mounties found the suspect hiding under a trailer.

William Lachance, 36, was held in custody and is charged with failing to comply with a probation order and resisting a police officer. Meadow Lake RCMP Sgt. Ryan How said Lachance will be held in custody until his next court date.
