Territorial Days kicks off Tuesday evening

The 130th annual Territorial Days are right around the corner with a brand new lineup with something for everybody.

According to Jocelyn Ritchie, General Manager of the Battlefords Agriculture Society, this is the largest event of the year in the Battlefords.

“We get over 20,000 people through the three days, so it’s really great,” Ritchie said. “It brings a lot of tourism dollars into our community with people shopping locally, staying locally and buying fuel locally.”

This year’s new entertainment includes the death-defying trio, the Nerveless Nocks. They will not only be taking on the Globe of Thunder with their motorcycles, but will also be performing gymnastics and stunts on the Wheel of Destiny, a revolving apparatus that spins like a pendulum.

Additionally, attendees can expect to see the Matt Henry, a world juggling champion, and Steve Harmer, a motivational magician.

Attendees will also get the chance to participate in some of the fun, such as testing their balance with mechanical bull riding.

But that’s not all; Territorial Days will also show its adorable side with the Cutest Show on Earth.

This show is designed to get family members together and build confidence for the next generation of musicians, as kids dress up and become stars of the show in a live theatre experience.

A parade will kick off the event Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Civic Centre.
