Riders make a trade with Montreal for a QB

The Riders have just traded for a Quarterback from the Montreal Alouettes.

No, it’s not Darian Durant.

The team announced the team acquired international quarterback Vernon Adams. The Riders also received a fifth-round selection in the 2018 CFL Draft.

Montreal receives national defensive back Tevaughn Campbell, a third-round selection in the 2018 draft and a third-round selection in 2019.

Adams, who’s from California, was originally acquired from the Alouettes in 2016 where he dressed for 15 regular season games.

He completed 42 of 75 pass attempts for 575 yards and four touchdowns in three starts last season.

As a backup quarterback this season, Adams has rushed for nine yards and a touchdown on eight carries.
