Liquor involved in two vehicle collisions in Meadow Lake

Impaired drivers kept Meadow Lake RCMP members busy over the weekend with three incidents reported.

Six people were taken to hospital with minor injuries following a two-vehicle collision early Saturday morning on Highway 55 near Bob’s Fuel in Meadow Lake.

Sgt. Ryan How of the Meadow Lake RCMP said alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in the incident however no charges have been laid as the investigation is continuing.

In a separate incident police arrested a 29-year-old female on Saturday night after a vehicle she was driving struck a man in the city around 7 p.m. The man sustained minor injuries from the collision.

The woman was charged with impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level over .08 and will appear in court at a later date to face charges.

As well early Sunday morning RCMP received a report about an erratic driver on Railway Ave.

”Members located the vehicle and arrested a 35-year-old man for impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level over .08,” How said. ”In fact breath samples were taken and resulted in his readings being four times the legal limit.”

Police asking for help in search

Meadow Lake RCMP are also asking for the public’s help in locating Ryan Lee Montgrand of Meadow Lake.

The 31-year-old is wanted for outstanding warrants for assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of a concealed weapon. RCMP say Montgrand could be in the Meadow Lake or Dillion areas.

If you have any information on Ryan Montgrand’s whereabouts contact the RCMP or Crime Stoppers. Allegations against Montgrand have not been proven in court.
