Silvernagle advances to qualifier round at Colonial event

The Robyn Silvernagle rink of North Battleford has advanced to the Group B qualifying round of the Colonial Squares Curling Classic being played at the Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon this weekend.

The local foursome consisting of skip Robyn Silvernagle (North Battleford) mate Jolene Campbell (Saskatoon), second Dayna Demers (Meadow Lake) and lead Kara Thevenot (Prince Albert) sit at 2-1 after the opening day of competition in the triple knockout event.

“We had a great day yesterday,” Silvernagle said. “We took advantage of the breaks we got and put ourselves in good position heading into today.”

Silvernagle defeated Nancy Martin of Saskatoon 5-4 in the opening draw of the tournament, which has World Curling Tour points up for grabs and a prize purse of $27,000.
