Missing boaters found safe at Round Lake
It turned out to be a Happy Thanksgiving when police found two missing boaters.
The pair from the Lloydminster area were found safe the morning of Monday, Oct. 9 after Loon Lake RCMP received notice about a 50-year-old male and 50-year old female did not return home from a boat trip on Round Lake.
Loon Lake RCMP and Saskatchewan Environment Resource Management conducted an immediate search of the lake. The next morning, a lifejacket, overturned boat and fishing gear were discovered on the shoreline.
In a media release, Loon Lake Detachment Commander Sgt. Phil DeGruchy said both parties were transported to hospital and have since been released.
