Extensive Maidstone search results in arrest

Police have arrested one man and continue to search for additional suspects after an intense investigation from the Emergency Response Team.

Members from the Maidstone, Battlefords, Unity, Onion Lake, Turtleford, Cut Knife, and Lloydminster detachments all came together for the case. The investigation was assisted by the Police Dog Services, drones and K Division RCMP air services.

A 29-year-old male, Jeremy Kelly Buffin, was taken into custody today after he exited a car stuck in a slough area near Maidstone. The car was reported stolen from a residence between Lloydminster and Maidstone.

Buffin is charged with robbery with a weapon, pointing a firearm, using a firearm in the commission of an offence, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of property obtained by crime and flight from police. He appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court this morning.
