Stanley Mission RCMP seek information on suspicious fire that sent one man to hospital

Police in Stanley Mission is asking the public for any information they may have in regards to a suspicious fire in the community that sent one man to hospital.

At around 6:30 a.m. on Oct. 11, local fire services responded to a structure fire at a vacant residence on the 1000 block of Charles Street in Stanley Mission, according to RCMP.

A backyard shed was also on fire and emergency responders found a 23-year-old male inside. He was transported to and remains in hospital with serious injuries. There is no update on his condition.

RCMP say the fire is considered suspicious. Police want to learn about any activity residents may have seen at the building or in the area that day. RCMP is being assisted by Provincial Fire Scene Examiners in the investigation.
