Missing paddler found deceased on shores near Cumberland House

RCMP say the body of Stanley Custer, 20, who went missing while paddling on Cross River has been found.

In a release, Cumberland House RCMP said Custer was located deceased on the south shore of Cross Lake Friday by community searchers.

Police do not consider his death suspicious, as initial indications show he died of exposure.

Custer was reported missing on Oct. 18 in a paddle boat near Bud’s Point, roughly nine kilometres east of Cumberland House.
