Southend man struck and killed while walking on highway

A man was struck and killed while walking along Highway 102 near Brabant Lake.
Southend RCMP responded to the event early Sunday morning. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was not injured and remained at the scene for police to arrive.
Traffic was detoured for a period of time and was re-opened early Sunday morning.
The male pedestrian was 62-years-old and from Southend. RCMP will not release the name of the deceased.
