Baby girl ‘critical’ after incident in west Toronto; injured woman arrested
TORONTO — A four-month-old baby girl was fighting for her life and an injured woman was under arrest in hospital after a violent altercation at an upscale condo building in Toronto, police said Wednesday.
A man was stabbed and assaulted in the same incident and suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said. They would not comment on the relationship between the three.
Police had initially said the baby was stabbed, but later clarified that the child’s critical injuries were not related to stab wounds. They would not say, however, precisely what caused the baby’s injuries, or what injuries the arrested woman had sustained.
The incident took place on Wednesday morning, with officers receiving a call from a west-end condo building around 8:30 a.m. about an injured man and infant.
