Meat cleaver thief back behind bars

Feb 8, 2018 | 9:00 AM

The man who robbed a Prince Albert floral shop nearly two years ago using a meat cleaver, is set to be sentenced this Friday.

Austin Fiddler, 21, was originally supposed to have been sentenced in August 2016 but didn’t show up to court and has been on the run ever since.

Prince Albert police have confirmed Fiddler was arrested without incident on Jan. 5. He had outstanding warrants for uttering death threats, fraud, robbery, committing an indictable offence while wearing a face mask, wilful damage and breach of court order.

Fiddler’s case will be heard at Prince Albert Provincial Court.
