Suspects sought in Monday morning shooting

Battleford’s RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance to come forward with any information they may have on an incident that occurred on Monday in North Battleford.
 
RCMP responded to a call at approximately 12:20 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 5 on the 2200 block of Douglas Ave. Police were informed a Pontiac Cobalt had left the road and collided with a fire hydrant, where the occupants had subsequently fled the scene.
 
Upon arrival, RCMP discovered the vehicle had bullet holes in one of the doors that were consistent with bird-shot from a shot gun.
 
RCMP are aware that this incident was between individuals who knew one another and it was not a random act. 
 
The investigation is ongoing.
 
RCMP further added it is this type of criminal element that the RCMP are engaging with their targeted crime suppression teams. With the support of the City of North Battleford and the RCMP “F” Division, the RCMP now have two dedicated crime suppression teams, who will be working both in the city and rural areas of the Battleford’s Detachment.
