What’s on for Winter Festival, Family Day weekend in P.A.

Creativity and entertainment for residents will abound in Prince Albert for Family Day long weekend.

Topping the schedule is the array of activities for the 2018 Prince Albert Winter Festival. Make sure to pick up a famous Winter Festival Button at one of the many locations around the city and download the app from iTunes and Google Play.

 

Sunday: 

Jigging Contest 

Where:  E.A. Rawlinson Centre

When: Registration from 12 to 2 p.m. Contest from 2 to 4 p.m.

 

Beerd Derby Final Judging

Where: Rock & Iron Sports Bar at the Prince Albert Golf and Curling Club

When: 7 to 8:30 p.m.

 

Monday:

Family Day activities at Alfred Jenkins Field House

What: Free gym and turf drop-in and climbing wall access 

When: 1 to 4 p.m.

 

Public Skating 

Where: Art Hauser Centre

When: 7:30 to 9 p.m.

 

Art Drop-In

Where: Mann Art Gallery

When: 10 a.m to 2:30 p.m.

 

Activities at Margo Fournier Centre

Chair assisted yoga: 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Floor Hockey 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Zumba 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Basketball 3 – 4 p.m. Open Gym 4 – 5 p.m.

 

Historical Museum

When: Open 1 to 4 p.m.

 

Family Day Game Special – Raiders v Regina Pats

Kids get in free if they are wearing a Prince Albert Winter Festival button. As part of the Family Day game, there will be no liquor allowed in the bowl. Alcohol will only be served and allowed in the Ches Leach Lounge. Following the game, the Raiders welcome the kids to the ice to take part in a post-game skate with the team. Kids must wear helmets on the ice.

Family Sliding Day

Free hot dogs and hot chocolate

Admission: Winter Festival Button

Where: Little Red 

When: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
