Lee Bell’s life passion is music, and soon he’ll passing the tune on to many local budding musicians of all ages with a unique opportunity.

The Meadow Lake musician and entrepreneur is running Rockstar Bootcamp, an eight-week long set of lessons where drummers, bassists, pianists, guitarists, and singers of varying abilities form a band.

Bell said they learn a song, perfect it, come up with a band name, and then showcase their work with a performance at the end of the two-month session. He will host six groups once a week in two different time slots in the camp starting in late March.

He said participants can sign up as a group, or they can be randomly assigned to work with other music lovers. Before the camps, Bell offered private lessons for years, but thought the group setting would be more entertaining and interactive. The inaugural camp ran in the fall of 2016, the second in the spring of 2017 and both were very popular, Bell said.
