Flying Dust First Nation is well-represented as a part of Team Meadow Lake Tribal Council (MLTC) at the Tony Cote First Nations Winter games this week.

Over 30 athletes are participating in three sports at the week-long event in Saskatoon. The event began on Sunday, and will wrap up Friday, April 6. Out of the seven sports categories, the Flying Dust group is participating in basketball, hockey and volleyball.

Cheryl Bear, a chaperone and basketball coach from Flying Dust, said it’s been a busy yet fun few days for those participating.

“You make a lot of friendships when you come to these games,” she said. “It’s not just within your own tribal council; it’s with everybody across the province. It’s a really good way to connect and build that friendship along the way over the week.”
