Prince Albert Police said a firearm was discharged at a McIntosh Dr. home over the weekend. Nobody was injured, though police said the occupants were home at the time.

Police were called to a home in the 100-block of McIntosh Dr. early Saturday morning for a firearms complaint. The occupants of the home heard a “bang,” police said, and officers found a bullet hole in a basement window. Officers are investigating the incident, though there are currently no suspects.

Two charged after officers find firearm

In a separate incident, Prince Albert Police charged two people with weapons-related crimes after discovering a firearm during a search Friday afternoon.

Police were dispatched to a 13th St. W. address to arrest an individual who was wanted for breaching a court order. Officers found the suspect along with a girl at the home and discovered the firearm during a search of the room.

The 25-year-old male suspect from Prince Albert is now facing nine firearms-related charges along with one count of breaching a recognizance. The 15-year-old female suspect, also from Prince Albert, is facing five firearms-related charges. Both suspects were scheduled to make their first court appearances Monday morning.

Stolen vehicle recovered

A Prince Albert officer on patrol located a truck that was stolen from Canwood, Sask. on 15th St. W. early Monday morning, police said, but when the officer activated the squad car’s emergency lights and siren the driver of the stolen vehicle took off at high speed.

Police did not chase the truck for public safety reasons, but RCMP partners were contacted as the fleeing driver left the city on Highway 302.

RCMP officers located the vehicle abandoned in a farmyard in MacDowall, Sask. less than two hours later, police said, and three suspects were located in a field a short distance away. The suspects, a 30-year-old man and two 24-year-old women, all from Prince Albert, were arrested without incident and charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle over $5,000 along with other criminal offences.

All of the suspects are presumed innocent at this stage.
