Saskatchewan Provincial Parks announced Wednesday afternoon there is a precautionary drinking water advisory in effect for Makwa Lake Provincial Park.

The advisory is for the entire park water system.

People are advised to boil water for at least one minute prior to use — including water for drinking, washing fruits and vegetables, washing dishes and brushing teeth. Younger children and infants should be sponge bathed.

Residents are asked not to drink from any public drinking fountains supplied with water from the public water supply.

The advisory is effect until further notice.
