The Shellbrook RCMP and the Office of the Chief Coroner are asking for the public’s help as they continue their investigation into the death of Brennan Ahenakew on the Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation.

The 20-year-old’s remains were found in a burnt out car on the Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation on May 10.

Ahenakew’s mother Lisa Johnstone spoke to paNOW in mid-May and said she hopes someone who knows what happened to her son comes forward.

Ahenakew said he was going to the gravel pits to hang out with his friends the night before his remains were found, Johnstone said, and the family has since started a GoFundMe campaign to help raise money to offer as a reward for information.
