Police arrest teen with homemade Taser

The Prince Albert Police Service had a busy weekend, after members responded to 315 calls for service and arrested 41 people, including a youth with a handmade Taser.

Police arrested the 14-year-old around 4 p.m. June 10 after a complainant reported a male with a weapon in a parking lot on Second Ave. W.

Police located a handmade Taser on the youth, who matched the complainant’s description. He was charged with possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace.

Stolen vehicle

Police were dispatched to a home on the 400 block of 22 St. E. around 11 a.m. June 10 after a van was stolen from the residential driveway.

The vehicle was later found abandoned on First Ave. and 27 St. E.

Drunk driver

Police arrested a 20-year-old woman from Birch Hills and charged her with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol and failing to provide a breath sample.

The arrest came after police attended a vehicle crash on Fifth Ave. W. and 23rd St. The vehicle crashed into a fence near a school around 11 p.m. June 8.

The woman will face the charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
