Central Avenue gets some fixes

Prince Albert’s downtown Central Avenue just got a lot more drivable.

Three damaged sections caused by recent underground infrastructure work were repaired and paved Thursday morning.

“Water works went in there two weeks ago and replaced valves in those areas so we’ve replaced what was jug up,” roadways manager Brent Kennedy told paNOW.

While Central Avenue as a whole is not on the paving program budget, Kennedy said there was a small section still to be fixed up in the next few weeks.

“We have a spot on the corner of Central and 15th Street that needs fixing because of regular wear and tear that caused cracking and water got underneath so we’ll do that and maintain some of the potholes in the area while we’re down there,” he said.
