Tonight's early results in the federal byelection for the Battlefords-Lloydminster riding appear to have paved the way for a landslide victory for Conservative candidate Rosemarie Falk, to replace long-serving Conservative MP Gerry Ritz who announced his retirement during the summer.

While the final numbers are not in yet, based on the latest numbers trending, battlefordsNOW is predicting Conservative candidate Rosemarie Falk will be the winner in the Battlefords-Lloydminster byelection tonight.

Battleford residents celebrate Canada’s anniversary with free skate

Battleford residents showed their national pride Sunday afternoon by taking part in a free skate to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary.

The town received a $1,000 micro-grant from the federal government to host the event. 

Mayor Ames Leslie said the event was well supported.
