Super A owners say Battlefords businesses becoming harder to run

It’s getting tougher and tougher to operate a small business in a small town.

The town of Battleford has seen its fair share of disappearing businesses throughout the town. Super A Foods became the latest business to close its doors Thursday.  

The Finlayson Island vehicle bridge (south side only) will be closed to traffic Wednesday. The north side pedestrian bridge will remain open.

Finlayson Island vehicle bridge to be closed Wednesday

The Finlayson Island vehicle bridge will be closed Wednesday while workers inspect the structure and take samples for a study, the Town of Battleford reported at its Monday meeting. The north side pedestrian bridge will remain open.

With the temperatures getting warmer outside, one meteorologist said it’s important to understand why heat warnings are issued and what the heat can do.

Forty-eight Grade 8 students recently participated in their science fair at North Battleford Comprehensive High School.

It started out as just a year-end project, but it turned into much more as the students worked to build not only their projects but also their knowledge of science.
