Canada 150 is quickly approaching and essentially all residents around the Battlefords area will be able to find an event near them.

Fort Battleford will be hosting Fort Fest ’17 on July 1 starting at noon and will have a wide range of activities available for attendees.

The Battleford Court of Queen’s Bench inducted 13 new lawyers Friday afternoon.

The ceremony for swearing law students into the profession is known as a call to the bar, or call to the profession, which requires several years of hard work to officially become a lawyer.

Relay for life exceeds expectations and surpasses goal

Once again the community of the Battlefords showed its generosity and spirit.

That was the sentiment expressed by the 2017 Battlefords Relay for Life Chair Stefanie Harrington following the 12-hour marathon which wrapped up early Saturday morning at the City Field in Centennial Park.

North Battleford Mayor, Ryan Bater, said many municipal leaders are hoping the federal government can answer questions regarding the legalization of marijuana next year, especially as it pertains to policing.
