Safety incident at NorSask mill sends construction worker to hospital

A worker was injured at NorSask Forest Products late last week.

The person, who was not an employee of the company, was involved in a safety-related incident at the sawmill on Friday, Nov. 17 at approximately 2:30 p.m.

The yearly craft fair called the Holly Berry is set to make attendees merry, according to event organizers from the Meadow Lake chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.

15-year-old accused in shooting death makes first court appearance

The 15-year-old male charged with manslaughter in the shooting death of Kegan McCallum last Monday appeared very briefly in court today. 

The accused, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, will return to Meadow Lake provincial court Dec. 4, at 9:30 a.m.

M.L. city council votes to temporarily close grandstands at Stampede Grounds

The seating area at Meadow Lake’s Stampede Grounds may not be open much longer.

At their regular meeting, members of city council were in complete agreement to close the structure to public access until a public consultation can be held in 2018.
