Local air cadets celebrate 67 years; look forward to future

Several parents, volunteers, and even a pipes and drums band from a Lloydminster unit came to be a part of the event to celebrate the 520 Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron, which has been a part of the community for the last 67 years.

Door of Hope gears up for city-wide food drive

Meadow Lake’s food bank and soup kitchen – Door of Hope – is gearing up for its annual food drive on Wednesday, June 7.

Demand for support seems to have spiked over the last year, and Executive Director Unita Esau said she is hopeful Meadow Lakers will display their usual generosity.

A recent rash of criminal activities reported in Meadow Lake are believed to be related.

This morning around 1:30 a.m., local police received multiple calls regarding what were believed to be gunshots in the 500 block of Second St. W.
