Campaign in full swing for election of Grand Chief

Tribal chiefs within the Prince Albert Grand Council will vote next month for their Grand Chief.

The two men vying for the position are current Grand Chief Ron Michel and Charles Whitecap from Shoal Lake.

Michel said he is very concerned about the youth in their communities.

Green Party elects new leader

Victor Lau was elected the new leader of Saskatchewan's Green Party on Sunday, winning 60 per cent of the 106 votes cast.

The vote was held at the Glencairn Neighbourhood Recreation Centre in Regina.

Larry Waldinger came in second after Lau, and Brendan Cross finished third.

Positive AIDS Awareness Walk

About 40 people took to the streets in Prince Albert this afternoon in support of those living with, affected by or vulnerable to HIV.

The Prince Albert Métis Women hosted the Positive AIDS Walk to honour those with HIV and the people who support them.

Running the Red

Runners are taking part in the second annual Running the Red.

It's a very technical run through the bush at the Little Red River Park and is billed as Saskatchewan's Ultimate Trail Race.
