LARRAINE ANCHETA UY
1964 – 2017
Larraine Ancheta Uy, age 53, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK, Canada. She was born on April 10, 1964 in Manila, Philippines. “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:38-39. Larraine, a lovely singer from a group called PAPURI in the Philippines, was married to the love of her life, Glenn Uy, for 25 years. Together they had four children, Luis (who passed away in 1991), Larissa, Veronica and Joshua Uy, who were her treasures and her true pride and joy. She was a passionate wife, mother and most especially a lover of God. Her faith in Jesus Christ never faltered, all the way to the end. She touched many hearts and lives with her sweet and powerful voice. Larraine was a true worshipper and her ability to give laughter and love brought life to the people around her. She was a compassionate and kind woman who saw the goodness in each person. Larraine was also a very caring and loving daughter. She dedicated her life to helping her father, Legaspi, and her mother, Edilberta (who is also with the Lord, passing in 2015). Her gratitude towards them inspired her to assist them in building a home for the elderly, Golden Acres Care Home, which has welcomed many over the years. As eldest of three children, Larraine was the most thoughtful, fun and caring towards her sister, Jeanmarie Lundy (Duncan), and her brother, Marlon Ancheta (Nicole). With her wisdom and compassion, she helped her siblings by teaching and guiding them through life. Her parents-in-law, Felipe and Elizabeth Uy, sisters-in-law, Karen, Annette and Windy, and brother-in-law, Edwin, loved her dearly as a part of their family. Larraine worked as an Immigration Consultant for several years and helped many families migrate to Canada. Her love and devotion to God was exemplified in her sacrificial and unconditional love towards her family, relatives and friends. It was also reflected in the songs she wrote and most especially displayed in her life until the very end. She loved to be with people and her beautiful smiles and sense of humor will be greatly cherished. She is very much loved and will be sadly missed, but her memory will live forever. Knowing that she is with our Jesus in Heaven, free of pain and sorrow, brings a lot of comfort, joy and assurance to our hearts that we will see her again. We would like to extend our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to all of you who celebrated her life with us. Also, to those who sent condolences, cards, monetary donations and flowers, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
