Audrey Lucille NELSON (nee JACKSON)
December 20, 1935 – October 10, 2017
Audrey was born in Birch Hills and grew up in Prince Albert where she attended school and was an active member of Wesley United Church. She graduated from Nursing in 1958. Audrey married Elmer in 1959 and moved to the farm east of Prince Albert where she always had a huge garden and did more than her share of milking cows and other chores. Audrey went back to nursing in 1970 at the Victoria (Lions) Nursing Home and Herb Bassett Home until she retired in 1995. In retirement, she continued to be an active member of both Colleston and Wesley United Churches. She went on many fishing trips with Elmer, but especially enjoyed spending time spoiling her grandchildren. Audrey is survived by her children Curtis (Elnor), Corrinne (Mike), Bruce (Lori) and Bonnie. She was beloved grandmother of Kandace (Taylor), Lindsey (James), Allyson (Bryce), Graham (Kylie), Kalli (Taylor), Lucas and Joshua. She was predeceased by her husband Elmer; parents Ethel and Graham Jackson; brothers Emerson and Albert; and sister Joan. Audrey’s family extends a special thanks to the staff on the 6th Floor of the Victoria Hospital and the Good Sheppard Villa for their care and comfort of Audrey. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Tony Thompson officiating. Interment will be held at Colleston Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
