Landfill fees set to increase

An increase in user fees for the city’s landfill can be expected next year.

The city’s executive committee voted in favour of a proposal from the city’s finance department that would see many fees associated with the landfill increase.

Woman changes plea to guilty of manslaughter

The woman accused of killing a man in Deschambault Lake in 2009 is heading behind bars.

Yolanda Custer changed her plea Monday afternoon. The 23-year-old, mother of one originally pleaded not-guilty to second-degree murder, but changed it to a guilty plea of manslaughter.

Evidence wrapped up in Crowe trial

There will be no more evidence presented in the Jordan Crowe trial.

Today Crowe’s defence lawyer, Greg Chovin, called his only witness to the stand.

Crowe is charged with second-degree murder in the death of three-year-old Dilyn Donald. Donald died on Dec. 23, 2007.
