Canadian Blood Services is asking Canadians to roll up their sleeves and donate blood as national inventory levels have reached critical levels.

The country typically requires between 20 to 25,0000 units on hand at any given time, but currently only has between 12 and 14,000.

Following a report by an American-based human rights advocacy group on the treatment of Indigenous women by police, Prince Albert’s police service is considering forming a committee specifically to review the findings.

No injuries in downtown structure fire

At approximately 2:10 p.m., emergency crews responded to a report of smoke in the attic at 140 8 Street East.

Upon arrival, fire crew members determined there was an active fire in the attic space. There were two people in the building at the time. Both escaped without injury.
