The commissioner of the Canadian Football League says a former Saskatchewan Roughrider still can't play in the CFL even though he was found not guilty of assault causing bodily harm.

The CFL and the Saskatchewan Roughriders held a season preview Wednesday morning just 10 days ahead of training camp in Saskatoon.

Kids in Saskatchewan grow up dreaming they might one day play for the Roughriders and Mitchell Picton was no exception.

Gathered with his family at his home in Regina, it was his brother Aaron Picton, who was previously drafted by the Riders, who broke the news to him.

Cates, Brandvold inducted into the 2017 Plaza of Honour

Two greats will have their names forever etched in Saskatchewan Roughrider history.

Wes Cates and Roger Brandvold have been announced as the 2017 Plaza of Honour inductees.

Cates was the running back from 2007 to 2011, appearing in three Grey Cups, including the 2007 win.
