An experienced pilot is dead after crashing a new ultralight plane north of Lloydminster near the Alberta – Saskatchewan border.
RCMP from Kitscoty, Alberta and the Lloydminster rescue team were called in to an area of rough terrain north of the city Monday.
The pilot had last been seen Sunday, practicing touch-and-go takeoffs and landings from a private airstrip.
The victim was an experienced pilot, but not with this type of aircraft. The family has asked police to withhold the name.
