Gigantic job for Saskatchewan moving company

It’s a big job.

Lucyk Building Movers has been tasked with the job of moving an entire house from a residential area in the south east end all the way out to the Pasqua Lake area.

Garnet Lucyk owns the company with his son. He said they were one of the only companies willing to take on the job, which has taken the better part of a year to plan out. He said he wasn’t too sure if his five man crew was excited to kick off the job, but he and his son definitely were, especially after all the hard work they put into it.

“Months and months of planning, and measuring the streets; making sure we could get through,” he said.

Permits from the City of Regina were needed, trees needed to be trimmed, some power poles needed to be taken down; and the route was mapped out multiple times before they found one that worked.

“It’s one of the bigger jobs,” Lucyk admitted.

“We’ve moved bigger buildings, but it’s like threading the needle in some spots.”

The crew plans to start moving the home at 7 a.m. They’ll travel from the Windsor Park Place area, out to Assiniboine, Arcola, Victoria Avenue and Prince of Wales drive before they get outside of the city.
