Tristen Charles was sentenced to five-and-a-half years, minus time in remand, for killing a man in Black Lake on April 12 at Prince Albert Queen’s Bench court house.
Originally charged with second degree murder in March, 2012, she had pled guilty to manslaughter on April 5, 2013.
On the night of March 30, 2012, Charles had a dispute with the victim over a bottle of whiskey at a residence in Black Lake.
When the victim wouldn’t give back her bottle of whiskey, Charles went into the kitchen and found a knife which she used to fatally stab the victim.
