Police searching for Regina teen hitchhiking to Toronto
Regina police say they need help in finding a teenager traveling on her own to Toronto.
Angelica Laclaire, 14, was last seen in Regina and Moosomin on Sunday. Police said on Wednesday they don’t necessarily believe the girl is in trouble but her family is worried about her safety, partly because she’s traveling without some prescription medication.
The Regina Police Service was contacted by family members who were worried that Laclaire had left home and was likely hitchhiking east. The RPS sent an alert to other police forces and the Canadian Centre For Child Protection to get the word out.
The RCMP confirmed that a person believed he had offered the girl a ride from Balgonie to a restaurant in Moosomin. That driver, however, had thought she was in her 20s. She may have also been spotted in Brandon, MB on Monday but police haven’t confirmed that yet.
